You wait ages for a trailer to make you cream your jeans and then three come along at once.

Well done internet.

And y'know the other awesome fun I had at Kapow.

Cut for rambling and fangirling and my face... )

Nat and I also went to see The Avengers again last night. We saw it in 2D in the same cinema I met Fassbender at, which means the five times I've seen it have all been at different cinemas. I do have one more cinema in my local area where I can go and see it too, so maybe I can manage at least one more showing. I hadn't realized just how incredible digital pictures are though. The film's looked great wherever I've seen it, but the whole thing was unbelievably crisp and clear at this, it kind of blew me away a little bit.

I cried more this time too and may have actually cried out "PHIL!" when he got stabbed. In my defense, there was a quiet buzz of noise throughout, but I wasn't fussed as I was too fuckin' tired to be.

I have decided that my absolute favourite moment - and I decided this at my third showing, but still - is during the final battle. It's the moment where you go to Iron Man, who lands then shoots his repulsors off Cap's shield, knocking out the Chitauri. Then he flies up the building and the focus is on Clint, who shoots out some of the Chitauri, then you follow his arrow and watch it knocking out some on Natasha's tail. She takes some down and flies over where Thor and Hulk and on one of the large worms, working together to take it down before it crashes into that building. Then Hulk punches him. It's just such an incredible moment, showing the team working as a team. It's stunning. And fuckin' hilarious
.

The film is still as incredible as ever. The fact Nat and I had to walk 2.5 miles at 12.45AM, down a never ending street to find our hotel after we'd been on our feet all day wasn't quite so much fun. Only took us about half an hour, but it still hurt like fuck and the promise of tea at the other end was all that kept us going.

So yes, good weekend, incredibly tiring after an already exhausting 56 hour work week, but eh, gave me a chance to be me for a while, so that was pretty great.

Back to work again tomorrow. DNW. :(

Spoilers for TVD season four )

On a completely different topic, this makes me giddier than it has any right to.

I am so excited for this film. I full on screamed and flailed when that announcement video came out, had a massive grin on my face for actual hours afterwards. The original is in my top ten movies of all time, I quote it on a near daily basis. (After seeing The Avengers, my friends and I got into a glass lift. I was so giddy and flaily, I threw myself at the wall and cried "I'M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!").

I'm hoping the teaser trailer is going to appear online in the next few days. I imagine you lot are probably hoping it isn't.

Remember how I said the other day that all the systems have gone down at work? Yeah, they're still completely down. I've spent the last four days going through every single slip we've taken by hand, checking my boss got all the calculations right by hand and then inputting them all into the system by hand. On Saturday, this meant working nonstop for 11.5 hours, without a single break just so we could get things in some vague order. (To be fair, my boss also worked through his dinner too).

I nearly burst into tears today because I was so stressed out. I got in this morning and one of the tills had also completely given up, I called maintenance and they basically said "Oh, yeah, just use the one that works but bear in mind, it could corrupt the entire system and you could lose everything!" and one bloody regular wouldn't stop making sarcastic comments and disputing everything I was doing. I wasn't upset or hurt, I give as good as I get, I was just so fucking annoyed with him. This guy pisses me off at the best of times, today he just drove me up the wall. But aside from occasionally muttering under my breath about all the ways I could kill him slowly and painfully, I didn't let it show. (It might have been partly to do with the fact I pretend Coulson was guiding me through a mission and exploding would have blown my cover).

I think I'm doing okay with the whole thing though. I mean, barring today. I found a level of calm I didn't know I possessed. I've managed to keep my head and approach the problems logically. Hell, I've mostly managed to stay fairly jovial throughout the whole thing. I'm quite impressed with myself really.

That said, if it could be fixed by the time I get to work tomorrow, that'd be awesome.

And hey, Matt Davis' new show Cult has been picked up. From the producers of Chuck and Farscape. Starring Matt Davis' face. So. That's a bit good. It actually sounds pretty interesting as well, so I'll definitely give it a try. And if all else fails? Matt Davis' face.

I'm easy to please.

Remember last year how I managed to break my laptop, phone and blu-ray player all in the space of a week and I decided I had mutant powers of electrical destruction? Yes. Well, they've resurfaced again.

Just call me Anti-Forge. )

On a positive point, I saw Beauty & The Beast in 3D yesterday. I think the easiest way to explain my feelings on that front would be to quote Melly, "Whenever I looked over at you, you had a huge grin on your face, you just looked so happy! Also you were singing. Shut up."

I absolutely didn't cry. Except for the three times when I was completely taken aback by the whole thing. The 3D adds a real depth to it, makes some of the animation effects really pop. Be Our Guest is incredible, as is the scene in the ballroom. It wasn't distracting in the slightest, a lot of the time I didn't notice it as I was so caught up in the film itself. There's a reason it's my favourite animated film and in my top ten films of all time.

It was such a joy to see it on the big screen again. I also love the fact they didn't include Human Again, which was remastered and was included on the 10th anniversary VHS/DVD and the Diamond Edition blu-ray/DVD. (Yes. I own both). It wasn't in the film I saw at 5 either, so the fact it wasn't shoehorned into this version too made it even more special. It was exactly the same film I saw the very first time I went to the cinema and fell in love with the whole experience.

Oh man, I do have an unnatural attachment to movies for someone who's not involved in the industry, don't I?

(Oh and Tangled Ever After? Adorable).

I just spent two hours today sitting, with tea (then chocolate milkshake), reading all the comics I'm behind on. I haven't really been following any series' for a long time. I couldn't afford it when I was unemployed, then I got my job and I've just not had a chance to sit and enjoy them. I get home, I get distracted by Tumblr or AO3 or whatever and I'm not following canon, I'm following fanon. I read the odd TPB at work, but they're always from some random point in canon (though I did manage to catch up with the whole Generation Hope storyline, so I'm actually pretty on board with my recent X-Men history). But now I'm all caught up with Uncanny X-Men (AND THERE WAS SINISTER!) and Avengers vs. X-Men. I know there's a Gambit solo series coming soon (yay!), along with a Hawkeye one I quite fancy checking out. Are there any other titles I should be following?

On a completely different, adult topic, my boss today informed me that the big bosses have agreed to change my contract at work. I've now moved from a 21 hour, to a 30 hour contract. To be fair, I work about that much each week anyway, but it's nice to have it made official now. They've also sorted out the pay rise that comes when my boss signs off on me being able to run the shop, which is also nice. It also means I'll get manager pay for the few hours I'm in by myself when I'm opening the shop.

It also means that now I get to do the all day shifts. I have an eleven hour and a thirteen hour shift coming up, within days of each other, and then my days off that week are being spent travelling and fangirling at Kapow. And Kapow panels are stupidly warm, so chances are there'll be a drooling, snoring Black Widow in the middle of one of them mumbling about Chris Hemsworth.
